Two different studies done in 2014 and 2017 showed that tooth powder works better than toothpaste for fighting gingivitis from plaque and works better at removing surface stains. You can find the study here. I shared the other day about how my bleeding gums completely resolved after I started using the tooth powder and now this study has me even more convinced that switching to the tooth powder might have been the reason for the improvement.
Recently I added charcoal to my own tooth powder after customers reached out and asked about the benefits of charcoal as a natural whitener. First, I tried just charcoal by itself on my toothbrush and boy was that a mistake. I had charcoal all over my face and hair, on the mirror, the counter, and the floor. I wish I were exaggerating. I only did that once! After adding a little to my tooth powder recipe, I have to say that I’m pleased with the results. I’m not sure if my teeth are whiter, because it’s still too early to tell, but I will say that it was much less messy with the charcoal added to the tooth powder. If you would like to try some of our tooth powder with the charcoal added please let me know and I can make some with activated charcoal for you. You can make our tooth powder or order it here.
I will admit that I hated tooth powder for the first week of using it, but now I love how clean my teeth feel, and I have completely adjusted to the change. Change is always hard for me! Have you tried tooth powder? What were your thoughts? We love to hear from you!
