One of the Blessings of Diversity

I was moving my water in the potatoes today and noticed this clownlike group of guineas pecking something off the sows. I think it was flies, but I couldn’t be sure. I had hoped to get a picture, but since I don’t like to carry anything with me, I had to run back to the house to get a camera. They must have had enough dinner, because they were leaving when I got back. We bought the guineas to take care of our tick problem when we lived at our old house, and they have helped us here as well. This year, however, we have removed more ticks from all of us than I can remember. I learned of a new trick to remove ticks safely and you can find it here.
