If I Can’t Eat It I Don’t Put It On My Skin

We should never put anything on our skin that we wouldn’t eat. Recent studies have shown that all the chemicals that you find in skin care items will go directly to the bloodstream, lymph nodes, and other parts of the body. What we apply to our skin has even greater dangers according to a professor of biology at North Carolina State University than what we ingest. According to him, “When you eat something, it’s broken down by your liver and digestive system. But when you put something on your skin, there are times when it can enter your bloodstream without being metabolized.”

Healthy, moisturized skin starts with a good traditional diet that includes nutrient dense, highly digestible food and good quality fats. When diet is not enough, we have found that combining basic ingredients to create products that do not contain water (products with water require harmful preservatives) have worked really well for us for moisturizing. There are many natural products on the market today, many recipes to experiment with, or we would love to help you out with our natural skin care items. I love lotion bars instead of liquid lotion for the hands and itchy, dry skin. These are so effective without the greasy mess. Salve is excellent for the feet and dry patches of skin. Salve is a little greasier, but it’s still one of my favorites. This time of year I pull out the lip balm a little more. I have heard from many people that they haven’t ever found a lip balm that is so effective. For years I went without facial cream, because I couldn’t find a natural cream, and I still haven’t found a facial cream like ours. I used a combination of amazing herbs and oils to create a product that doesn’t need water and therefore no longer needs a preservative. We never use poisonous sunscreen, harmful preservatives, fragrances, colorants, stabilizers, emollients, etc. that age us more quickly and harm our health. All of our products are great for men, women, and children, and I love that these products last a long time! Do you have a natural moisturizer that you use or make? We love to hear from you!
