Hey Friends! We have had a lot of people reach out to us over the years about sharing our homesteading skills. We are hoping to share more of what we are doing this year, Lord willing and as time allows. We are certainly not experts, but we have learned a lot through our mistakes. Hopefully you can learn from us, so you don’t have to make them.
In this video Cory demonstrates how we milk one of our cows. We have been hand milking cows for over 10 years. This skill is one that saves us the most money each year. We milk two to four cows at a time and make all of our butter, cheese, yogurt, buttermilk, ice cream, and still have plenty of real milk for drinking.
I bought pastured, organic butter from the store several months ago, and I was thankful we don’t have to use that butter anymore. Once you taste the difference and observe the quality of your own pastured, beyond organic milk, you won’t want to go back to store dairy.
Have you ever milked a cow? Did you enjoy it? We love to hear from you!!
A big thank you to Caleb for editing this video!! Without him, it would still be stored in the camera. Definitely encourage him with a comment if you like the video!
