I had planned to share a post last week with different information, but I wasn’t able to focus due to a very painful infection. I could feel it coming on at the beginning of last week, and I was foolish and kept going as normal. I also let myself get really stressed out about some silly tax forms. What I learned from this experience was that it’s important to rest, start on natural treatments right away, and rather than stressing, I should have just hired those tax forms done from the beginning and made a little more soap or preserved a little more food to make up the difference.
I feel led to share what I did to overcome this infection, but please know that this is coming from a very humble heart that realizes God is sovereign, sustains us, heals us, and gives us wisdom. I have been praying a lot about this, and anything good is of Him and not me. I also need to encourage you to do your own research and not take this as medical advice.
I didn’t know if I was dealing with a bacterial or fungal infection, but I knew from my research in the past, that the natural treatments I had planned to do should take care of both. About 10 years ago, I developed a similar infection for which I was treated with antibiotics. I was also experiencing a lot of other very concerning symptoms. After I stared on the antibiotics, all of my symptoms went away. When those pills were finished, all of my symptoms came back, and not only that, my gut health was even worse than before I went on them. My husband and I prayed a lot during that time, and we decided to seek the Lord’s wisdom, rather than go on another round of antibiotics. I knew more antibiotics wouldn’t be good for me. Since that prayer the Lord has revealed so many ways to heal the various health issues I was dealing with, (some very concerning) and also allowed me to help several other people with my knowledge. I haven’t taken a pharmaceutical drug since. Again, praise the Lord.
I knew this infection was serious, especially since I didn’t start fighting it right away, so the first thing I started was fresh garlic. Garlic is an amazing, natural antibiotic that does not seem to develop a resistance to bacteria or fungi like man-made antibiotics are doing. It must be fresh though! Those garlic supplements won’t do much good. The only bad thing I have discovered about fresh garlic is that I tend to smell like garlic when I take a lot of it. My husband must really love me, because I didn’t scare him off!
Another thing I found very beneficial was drinking a lot of my homemade apple cider vinegar. You can find that recipe here. For energy I sat by our big, south window and soaked up as much sun as possible. I tried to take in as much bone broth as I could, and I kept my fruit and natural sweeteners very low. I also ate some freeze-dried onions, took walnut tincture, nettle and black pepper tincture, acerola powder, and I drank a lot of tea made with nourishing herbs, along with raw milk and water. I slept as much as I could, and for a couple days my husband and kids prayed for me and took care of everything so I could focus on taking care of my baby and myself. I am so thankful for them and that was the most helpful!
As I was suffering, I was so thankful for all the scripture I had memorized. As I was praying and seeking the Lord’s wisdom, one of the Bible verses that came to my mind was from Romans 5:3-5 “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
I am healed, praise the Lord, and not only that, I am healthier physically, and I’m stronger spiritually. Praise the Lord.
Lord willing, I look forward to sharing that encouraging, and hopefully helpful, information with you next week!
Happy Saturday!
